Now that Belgium has taken over Anheuser-Busch, this Bud's for who? I guess we can say this Bud's pour vous, since, along with Dutch and German, French is one of the three languages of Belgium.
Now, I'm not actually overly concerned about "them" taking over Budweiser. However, let 'em touch our Shiner...and then we would be talking battle.
Meh. If people want true American beer, they need look no further then their local brewpub or craft brewery.
True, Miss Dev. The Shiner brewery, here in Texas, is about a hour from my house...and it is a true home-grown beer brewed, however, in German style.
It's hard to escape the German style, since they essentially pioneered modern brewing methods.
Even truly American styles of beer (Ambers, American IPA, blonde ales) are based on European recipes. Inevitable when you get in on the game 10,000 years after the product is created (in Africa, actually, but refined to what we consider "beer" in America).
It's way cool that Shiner is so close to you! It's always a bonus to have great beer nearby and fresh from the bright tanks!
